โครงการพัฒนาดอยตุง แหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงเรียนรู้จากวิถีชีวิตและธรรมชาติ ภายในพื้นที่โครงการ ประกอบไปด้วย 1. พระตำหนักดอยตุง หรือ “บ้านที่ดอยตุง” ของสมเด็จย่า ที่ประทับเมื่อเสด็จฯ มาทรงงาน งดงามด้วยสถาปัตยกรรมที่ผสมผสานระหว่างศิลปะล้านนากับชาเลต์แบบสวิส จุดเด่นของพระตำหนักอยู่ที่การแกะสลักไม้สนบนเพดานท้องพระโรงเป็นกลุ่มดาวตามตำแหน่งวันพระราชสมภพของสมเด็จย่า ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ 21 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2443 2. หอแห่งแรงบันดาลใจ นิทรรศการสื่อผสมรวบรวมพระราชประวัติราชสกุลมหิดล หลักการอภิบาลพระราชโอรสและพระราชธิดาของสมเด็จย่า จนเติบใหญ่เป็นพระมหากษัตริย์ผู้ทรงเป็นที่รักยิ่งของปวงชนชาวไทย ตลอดจนโครงการในพระราชดำริของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช และเรื่องราวของโครงการพัฒนาดอยตุงฯ ที่พลิกฟื้นเขาหัวโล้นให้กลับเป็นป่าต้นน้ำ สะท้อนถึงแนวพระราชดำริ พระราชจริยวัตรในการทรงงาน และพระวิริยอุตสาหะที่มุ่งพัฒนาความเป็นอยู่ของคนไทย ของสมาชิกทั้ง 5 พระองค์ในราชสกุลมหิดล เพื่อเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้ผู้เข้าชมมีพลังในการทำงานและทำความดีต่อสังคมต่อไป 3. สวนแม่ฟ้าหลวง อดีตเส้นทางลำเลียงยาเสพติดและอาวุธสงครามของกองคาราวานฝิ่น ผันเปลี่ยนเป็นสวนดอกไม้เมืองหนาวนับร้อยสายพันธุ์ เล่นระดับงดงามตามพื้นที่ลาดของไหล่เขา โดดเด่นด้วยกล้วยไม้รองเท้านารีสายพันธุ์ต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะรองเท้านารีดอยตุงที่มีถิ่นกำเนิดในป่าดอยตุง กลางสวนจัดตั้งประติมากรรมชื่อ ‘ความต่อเนื่อง’ ผลงานของ มีเซียม ยิบอินซอย ประติมากรหญิงผู้มีชื่อเสียงของไทย สื่อความหมายว่าการทำงานใดๆ จะสำเร็จได้นั้นต้องกระทำอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งยังมีกิจกรรมชมธรรมชาติบน ‘Doi Tung Tree Top Walk’ ทางเดินเรือนยอดไม้ยาว 297 เมตร และสูงกว่า 30 เมตร ให้สัมผัสธรรมชาติอย่างใกล้ชิด 4. สวนรุกขชาติแม่ฟ้าหลวง ตั้งอยู่บนดอยช้างมูบ ยอดเขาที่สูงที่สุดของเทือกเขานางนอน ในอดีตเป็นพื้นที่ปลูกฝิ่นและเป็นเส้นทางลำเลียงยาเสพติด ปัจจุบันแปรเปลี่ยนเป็นแหล่งรวบรวมพันธุ์ไม้พื้นเมืองและพันธุ์ไม้หายาก เช่น กุหลาบพันปีสายพันธุ์ต่างๆ กล้วยไม้รองเท้านารี ต้นนางพญาเสือโคร่ง ต้นเสี้ยวดอกขาว งดงามท่ามกลางป่าสน ทั้งยังมีเส้นทางเดินชมธรรมชาติ จุดชมทิวทัศน์ที่เห็นไกลถึงประเทศเพื่อนบ้านและลำน้ำโขง และยังเป็นแหล่งชมนกหลากสายพันธุ์ ทั้งนกท้องถิ่นและนกอพยพตามฤดูกาล

Doi Tung Development Project 1. The Doi Tung Royal Villa was the Princess Mother’s residence when she carried out her work at Doi Tung. The Royal Villa was designed with a fusion of Lanna architectural elements and the Swiss chalet. The outstanding features of the Royal Villa are the carved wood panels made by local artisans, and the ceiling using recycled pine wood inlaid in the form of the stars in the position of the constellations on October 21, 1900, the day the Princess Mother was born. 2. The Hall of Inspiration is an exhibition space that covers the life of the Mahidol family and how their mutual inspiration was transformed into a development effort to help solve the country’s social problems. These are reflected through their achievements, daily routines and their perseverance in improving the wellbeing of the people, which serves to inspire visitors. 3. The Mae Fah Luang Garden is located on what was originally an important route and a rest stop for opium caravans in the past. Today it is a beautifully landscaped garden with a large variety of decorative flowers especially the Lady’s Slipper, a temperate climate orchid, as well as ferns and large perennials grown on the hillside. The garden has been landscaped to attract visitors of all ages, and also includes a playground and a Tree Top Walk. The focus of the garden is a sculpture called “Continuity” by late 4. This area was once the largest opium growing area on Doi Tung, but has now been transformed into an arboretum where native flora and rare species are grown alongside different varieties of rhododendron. It is also a good place for birdwatching, with both local and migratory species to be seen.
