หอดูดาวภูมิภาคสำหรับประชาชนเต็มรูปแบบ แห่งที่ 3 ของประเทศไทย โดยสถาบันวิจัยดาราศาสตร์แห่งชาติ (องค์การมหาชน) กระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัย และนวัตกรรม (อว.) เป็นศูนย์การเรียนรู้ดาราศาสตร์และอวกาศสำหรับนักเรียน นักศึกษา ครู อาจารย์ สื่อมวลชน ประชาชน รวมทั้งเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางวิชาการมาตรฐานสากลของภาคใต้

Regional Observatory for the Public – Songkhla is served as the main learning center for astronomy in the South. It is the third regional observatory with full-scale services in Thailand, located at latitude 7 degrees north which enables a better observation for celestial objects than any other region. Its core missions are to provide the astronomical academics to the communities, astronomical research to students and educational institutions in the south, and a one-stop service learning center for Islamic astronomy. This observatory is blessed with beautiful scenery with transcendent vantage point of Songkhla Lake and the Gulf of Thailand.
