พิพิธภัณฑ์แร่-หิน กรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์เก่าแก่ และเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์ธรณีวิทยาแห่งแรกของประเทศไทย การจัดตั้งพิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นแหล่งรวบรวม และเผยแพร่ความรู้ทางด้านธรณีวิทยาและทรัพยากรธรณี นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการกระตุ้นให้ประชาชนเห็นคุณค่าของทรัพยากรธรณี อันจะนำมาสู่การช่วยกันอนุรักษ์ต่อไป โดยมุ่งหมายให้เป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ที่สมบูรณ์ได้มาตราฐานแหล่งเรียนรู้สาธารณะ ที่น่าศึกษาเรียนรู้ โดยผู้ชมสามารถทดลอง สัมผัส และเรียนรู้ได้ด้วยตนเอง

The Rock and Mineral Museum (Bangkok) is an ancient museum and the first Geological Museum in Thailand. This museum was founded with the aim to gather and disseminate the knowledge in geology and geological resources and encourage the public to be aware the value of geological resources and thus help conserving them further with the standards of public learning to make it a complete and educative geological museum having attractive exhibitions for visitors to get hands-on experiences and learn by themselves.
