Salathip, the hotel’s Thai restaurant, was purposely built to provide guests with an authentic dining experience with creative presentation in classic Siamese surroundings. The restaurant consists of a cluster of three Thai-style striking teak pavilions set in a garden next to the Chao Phraya River. Focusing on a mélange of Thai traditional philosophy and contemporary elegance and simplicity, the restaurant interiors utilised a design template of clean lines, geometric forms. Dressed in a subdued palette of dark browns and neutral tones, the restaurant blends in with Bangkok’s trendsetting environment, making it seemingly part of an extraordinary cultural experience. The cuisine served at Salathip is based on Thai cooking traditions that reflect the cuisine of Thailand by using creative ingredients and products from the royal project. The ideal Thai meal consists of a mixture of flavours and textures. All dishes have distinctive tastes, and are presented in attractive and colourful ways. The restaurant offers à la carte and set menus for dinner, which diners can enjoy in the exotic setting of Salathip’s golden teak pavilions or on the riverside terrace by the Chao Phraya River. Thais often invite their foreign guests to experience dining at Salathip, which features a nightly classical Thai dance performance. Hotel guests and local Bangkok residents choose the restaurant for the beautiful setting and river ambience. Salathip is an ideal location for special private parties and events, as well as engagements or weddings. Each of the three separate salas (pavilions) is ideal for small private parties of 20 to 25 persons.
