ต้นมเหสักข์ ต้นสักใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ต้นมเหสักข์ (ต้นสักใหญ่) ต้นนี้อายุไม่น้อยกว่า 1500 ปี วัดโดยเทียบเคียงขนาดและจำนวนวงปีของตอต้นสักต้นข้าง ๆ ที่ถูกตัดเนื่องจากสัมปทานป่าไม้ ก่อนปี พ.ศ. 2470 ต้นมเหสักข์ วัดขนาดความโตรอบต้นที่ระดับความสูงเพียงอก 1.30 ม ซึ่งจะวัดประจำปีทุกวันที่ 18 มิถุนายน ของทุกปี. ปี 2563 วัดได้ 1,023.8 เซนติเมตร หรือ 10 เมตร 23 เซนติเมตร จากการศึกษาพบว่า มีขนาดความโตเพิ่มมากขึ้น 1.2 เซนติเมตรต่อปี ต้นมเหสักข์ เดิมมีความสูง 47 เมตร แต่โดนพายุพัดเรือนยอดหัก เมื่อวันที่ 18 เมษายน 2520 หักลงไป 10 เมตร เหลือความสูงขณะนั้น 37 เมตร ทำการวัดอีกครั้ง เมื่อปี 2543 มีความสูง 38.5 เมตร วัดโดยการทิ้งดิ่งตลับเมตร จากยอดบนสุดถึงระดับพื้นดิน เมื่อปี 2561 ได้ทำการวัดอีกครั้งโดยการใช้โดรนบินขึ้นไปบนยอดสุดวัดได้ 40.3 เมตร เหตุการณ์สำคัญ สักสมเด็จ เป็นต้นสักที่สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ทรงปลูกเมื่อครั้งเสด็จพระราชดำเนินทอดพระเนตรต้นสักใหญ่ เมื่อวันพุธที่ 14 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2541 ปัจจุบัน เจริญงอกงามและพร้อมเป็นแม่ไม้ที่สำคัญของอุทยานแห่งชาติต้นสักใหญ่ ต่อไป เมื่อวันที่ 29 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2552 สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานนามต้นสักใหญ่ต้นนี้ว่า “มเหสักข์” เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลต่อพสกนิกรชาวไทย และทรงพระราชทานผ้าเพื่อผูกรอบต้นมเหสักข์ ในวันพระราชพิธีบวงสรวงต้นมเหสักข์ เมื่อวันที่ 1 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2554 ปัจจุบันผ้าพระราชทานได้ถูกเก็บรักษาไว้เป็นอย่างดีที่ สำนักงานวัฒนธรรมจังหวัดอุตรดิตถ์
